US Visa Lottery Entries Open; Ecuadorians can participate

The Embassy of the United States in Ecuador (US Embassy Ecuador, in English) announced that the registration platform for the US visa draw was enabled from this October 5, 2022. Ecuadorian citizens will be able to apply from this Wednesday until next November 8.
The US holds an annual lottery of 55,000 permanent resident visas for everyone.
Through its social networks, the US Embassy reported that the program provides a residence visa in the US, known as Diversity. He also recalled that the process is completely free for participants.
Some requirements of the US visa lottery
The Department of State annually conducts the contest for drawing US visas, known as Diversity Visas. In this 2022, the organization rejected more than 20 territories of the applications. Ecuador is not on the list, although its neighbors such as Colombia and Brazil do appear.
People who wish to apply to the program must do so from the website https://dvprogram.state.gov/. One of the indispensable requirements is to place a telephone number. That contact must remain operational until 2024.
The process for applicants
2022 applications will be reviewed and drawn in 2024. As of that year, the program will contact the beneficiaries to continue with the process. Worldwide, 55,000 visa applications are accepted.
The only way to find out if you were selected for a US Diversity visa is through their web portal. The Embassy reminded that being selected does not mean that you will have residency, since there are other steps to follow.
The Embassy encouraged citizens to apply to the program. Those raffled are permanent residence visas in the US.
Currently, those selected for the 2020 period have already been notified to continue the process. This part is carried out by the US Embassy in the applicant’s country.
