President Guillermo Lasso assured that Rafael Correa “is only interested in his freedom”

Guillermo Lasso, President of the Republic, as part of his policy of dialogue, had a telephone conversation with former President Rafael Correa, where he confirmed that he “is only interested in his freedom.” This was indicated to EcuadorTV, in an interview granted on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

“They told me (Rafael) ‘Correa wants to talk to you’… and I spoke with Correa. I did it because I am interested in Ecuador, but in that telephone conversation I realized that Correa is not interested in Ecuador” detailed the President, during his visit to Manabí. 

Then he specified that he is only “interested in his freedom, his impunity… only his, not even his people’s. Correa is the past, let’s talk about the future,” he added about that conversation.
