Vatican’s Car is stopped with drugs in its interior
Agents of the French police found inside a car with diplomatic plates of the Vatican four kilos of cocaine and 150 grams of marijuana last Sunday during a roadblock in Chambery, near the Italian border.
The two occupants, of Italian nationality, 30 and 41 years old, respectively, claimed that the drugs were not theirs and they are simple drivers, as reported by French radio RTL on its website.
According to the radial media, the two men with the official car went to Spain to buy drugs and thought that the diplomatic license plates would make them avoid controls.
Regarding the case, the Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi, said this Tuesday that there is no relationship between the staff of the Holy See and the two people who were in the vehicle of the Argentine Cardinal Jorge Maria Mejia, loaded with drugs.
In addition, he also said that no worker of the Holy See is involved in this arrest.
