Venezuela streets traversed by barricades
The streets of the city of San Cristóbal (west ) are blocked with barricades. Students, doctors , lawyers , shopkeepers , and retired people from the government of President Nicolas Maduro participate in this historic process.
People are tired of the long lines at the supermarket , where there is shortage of products such as flour or toilet paper, they are tired of being afraid from hitmen. They warn that will remain in the streets until Maduro hear their requests and rectifies.
Initially, the barricades were intended to block the riot police and National Guard tanks after the first protests . But many people in this city of 260,000 inhabitants now block the streets to deter motorized bands circulating at nightfall to steal and shoot.
At each barricade, there are 6 to 20 masked young men guarding their territory with catapults , stones and homemade bazookas throwing fireworks.
