Victims of evictions ask Nebot for help
Posted On 14 May 2013
Nearly 500 people who consider themselves affected by the evictions on Mount Sinai of last Friday, came this morning to the Municipality of Guayaquil to ask Mayor Jaime Nebot for support.
Representatives of the affected meet with the mayor for about twenty minutes and ask him to intercede and help them with work and legalization.
However, the Municipality clarified that it cannot intervene, since it is a land that belongs to the state and it is currently under litigation. Nebot said they can help with education.
Subsequently those affected by the evictions went to the Governance of Guayas to protest. Twenty policemen guard the building to avoid excesses.
