Water Law text will be ready this week

The Assembly and the social organizations expect to achieve a consensus on certain points of the draft of the Law of Water Resources within the framework of the `national dialogue table´, that yesterday was convened by the President of the legislature, Gabriela Rivadeneira (AP), through several newspapers.
The appointment, which will be this Friday at an Assembly Hall, is part of the procedure to finalize a pre-legislative on the so-called Water Law, according to the instructive of this process, which is the step prior to the adoption of the text in the Assembly.
In the publication, 17 groups of different sectors and cities are convened. This groups had participated in the public hearings the Assembly organized from March 26 to April 15 of this year.
Humberto Cholango, President of the Confederation of indigenous nationalities of the Ecuador (Conaie), said that he hoped to reach a national consensus on certain critical points, such as the creation of a single Water Authority.
Assemblyman Mauricio Proaño (AP) said that if this was not possible, a report with the inputs collected during the hearings would be posed to the plenary so they could decide.
