Whitney Houston’s Last Performance will be Premiered in August
Whitney Houston sought to revive her career as an actress in a movie about a musical band of the late 70’s. NBC’s Today Show exclusively released the first Sparkle trailer, which would be the last cinematographic project undertaken by the recently deceased singer and actress, this would have promised the revival of her career.
Sparkle, a film under de direction of Salim Akil, is the remake of a 1976 musical film which tells the story of the legendary Supremes. These young girls began their careers singing in the Harlem Church choir in the early 50’s, later on to become a successful group. In the film, Houston plays Emma, the mother of the main character, which Jordin Sparks gives life to, the youngest winner of American Idol. The movie premiere will be in August this year.
Nobody had seen Whitney Houston on the big screen since 1996 in The Preacher’s Wife. But undoubtedly her great success was The Bodyguard in 1992, film that brought the legendary theme, “I Will Always Love You”, which was number one in all lists. It is certain that this film will be one of the most expected this year, specially because of her fans that are still hurt by her departure. (ARL)
