The Organization YASunidos, having obtained 727.947 rubrics, closed yesterday the process of signature collection to promote a referendum to avoid the crude oil exploitation of block 43 at Yasuni.
The six months given by the Code of Democracy to collect signatures equal to 5% of the electoral roll (584.000), expires tomorrow for this group of environmentalists, who are planning to go on a demonstration to the National Electoral Council (CNE) to deliver them.
Elena Gálvez, Member of the group, said yesterday that they expect to receive most forms of people who support them, so they are assured that the inquiry `goes or goes´.
In fact, they believe that the margin for error will be minimal, because, in order to contrast the veracity of ID numbers and names of the signatories, they went to the database of the System of Internal Rents (SRI).
Meanwhile, the CNE plans to end today the digitalization of 75 thousand forms of signatures presented by the Frente Defensa Total of the Amazon, which poses a query to avoid any kind of exploitation of the resources of the country.
