#Zombiegye2012
The streets of Urdesa in Guayaquil, Ecuador, were taken by the 2012 zombie walk (zombieGYE), which is organized by Arturo Varas and Carlos Javier Reyes, who carried out the first zombie walk in Ecuador, back in 2009, by their own initiative.
This Saturday, October 27, the zombies of Guayaquil started their walk from Urdesa park at 16h00 (GMT) dragging their feet and groaning zombie horde, of more than 150 fans, to arrive to El Manantial, a popular bar in the city, where the organizers thanked the fans that attended the event. In this year, members of the coffee house Sweet&Coffee attended as zombies.
According to the organizers, the event celebrates horror and science fiction genre and all its fans are invited. The good reception of the TV series “The Walking Dead” has motivated more countries to perform their own zombie walks.
The first zombie walk carried out in the world was in Sacramento, California, United States, on August 19, 2001, after that, the initiative spread like a virus worldwide, and soon became a tradition. AV
