2.9 million children have been vaccinated against polio, measles and rubella

The government’s objective is to vaccinate 3.7 million children by July 2023. The vaccines are applied in 2,000 health centers in the country.

The Ministry of Health has applied more than 2.9 million vaccines against measles, rubella and poliomyelitis as part of the campaign that seeks to prevent outbreaks of these diseases.

In a press release, the entity recalled that the objective of the initiative is to vaccinate 3.7 million children between the ages of one and 12 by July 9, 2023.

In addition, he recalled that vaccines are available free of charge in the 2,000 health centers throughout the country.

The World Health Organization considers these diseases to be highly contagious. In the case of measles, for example, it can kill 10% of those infected in vulnerable populations.
