30% of Ecuadorians are satisfied with the economy of the country

According to a Latinobarómetro study, between 2010 and 2018 the perception of progress in Latin American citizens fell 8%. The report points out that 17% of Ecuadorians see the economic situation of the country as positive.
The economy, crime and corruption are the main concerns of LatinAmericans, according to the public opinion study Latinobarómetro 2018.
In thissense, the report indicates that Ecuador is the fourth country that mostapproves its government with 46 points; First, there is the Dominican Republicwith 53 points, Costa Rica with 53 and Bolivia with 47.
Regarding the perception of the economic situation in LatinAmerica, it fell from 25% to 12% since 2013, but Ecuador is in fourth placewith 17 points that he perceives as good or very good. Chile is added to this nation(26%), Uruguay (21%) and Bolivia (18%).
Distribution of wealth
While in economic satisfaction, the country rises to second place with 40 points from an average of 16 in Latin America. The Latinobarómetro report places Ecuador first in the perception of the fair distribution of wealth, since it reaches an average of 16 points out of 29.
Hence, Ecuador is the fourth country most satisfied with its democracy in Latin America with 36 out of 26 points, and its inhabitants are below average to want to live in another nation. Ecuador ranks 12th with 22 points.
The study reveals that in the perception of subjective income, that is to say if a remuneration reaches for the satisfaction of the needs, Uruguay and Ecuador are in the first places with 65% and 62%, respectively.
Optimism
Given this, 45% of the citizens of the region this year believe that their economic future will be better. In the case of Ecuador, 35% of the population believes that the economic situation will improve in the next 12 months.
However, the perception of equity is greater in Central America with 18%, than in South America and Mexico, where it reaches 15%. In countries such as Brazil and Venezuela, the population’s sense of an equitable distribution of wealth reaches barely 8% in 2018.
As regards the fair distribution of wealth, Bolivia is located with (27%), Nicaragua ( 23%), Honduras (22%), Costa Rica (19%) and Uruguay (19%).
Latinobarómetro reveals that in the last 23 years that the measurement of progress in the region has been applied, there has never been such a big feeling of regression as that registered this year.
In this sense, Bolivia is the most optimistic country with 44% ofrespondents perceiving progress. Ecuador is ranked 11th with 19% and Venezuelalast with 6%. In 1995 it was 35% and at its highest point it reached 51% in2013, but decreased to 41% in 2016. (I)
