Mexican immigration authorities found citizens of 36 nationalities. Ecuadorians are among the five largest groups.

In different operations carried out in January 2024, Mexican immigration authorities rescued 2,501 migrants in Puebla, including 319 Ecuadorians.
The National Migration Institute of Mexico (INM) reported this Friday, February 2, that the total number of rescued migrants corresponds to 36 nationalities.
The countries with the largest number of people helped are: Venezuela, Honduras, Guatemala, Ecuador, Haiti and Cuba.
Almost all of the rescued migrants are adults who were traveling alone or in family groups, only one unaccompanied minor was found.
The assisted migrants were channeled to facilities of the Migration Institute or to the System for the Comprehensive Development of the Family, as the case may be.
The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico began investigations for the probable crime of human trafficking and five Mexicans were linked to the process.
