46 officers were summoned to present their version on case “Lizard”

Officers involved in the riot between fans of Barcelona and Emelec

On Monday, prosecutor Fanny Castro began to receive free and voluntary versions from some of the officers involved in the riot between some fans of Barcelona and Emelec, last November 4 in Guayaquil.

Currently, the official has two lists with the names of 46 commando officers from several sectors in Duran and Samborondon, who  were assigned to control the situation that day.

According to the prosecutor, the deponents did not provide more new data  about the shooting that took the life of George Michael Murillo and injured Leon Jean Carlos Saavedra Lavayen. Moreover, they didn’t set the date and time where agents must approach the Prosecutor’s office to present their versions.

None of the police officers has admitted to have used weapons; however Castro stated that the firearms carried by the policemen during the operation were in custody in the rake area of the National Police and cannot be used until the  Criminology Department analyze them.
