Pitbull and Chayanne Cheered Up The Fourth Night at Viña Festival

Posted On 25 Feb 2011

The finalists of the international competition were announced during the fourth night of the Viña del Mar Festival. On a scale from 1 to 7, Canada scored 6,3; Peru got 5,6; and Chile, the Festival’s host country got 4,1.

Puerto Rican singer Chayanne, opened the show with one of his hit songs “Provócame,” screams of joy from the femenine audience were heard all across the Quinta Vergara–which has a 15.000 people capacity–. The “monster,” as the audience of the festival is usually called, sang “Un siglo sin ti,” “Tu boca,” “Fiesta en América,” “Completamente enamorado,” among other romantic and tropical tunes.

After dedicating some songs to the lovers of the “monster,” Chayanne got a golden Torch and a golden Gull.

After so much romance in the air, the reggaeton band Pitbull cheered up the night with their mix of reggaeton, rock, and electronic rythms.

The group arrived to the stage at 1:40 to perform “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, a song by the 90’s grunge band Nirvana noventero.

But Pitbull not only performed other bands’ cover songs, they also sang “I Know You Want Me,” making the audience boost their best moves. Pitbull’s show ended at 03:05 am and they took the Silver Torch and the Golden Torch home.
