Gaddafi Mourns with Attack against Misurata

Posted On 02 May 2011

The Libyan regime launched a devastating offensive against Misrata, while Tripoli is preparing the funerals for Gaddafi’s son and three grandsons of the Libyan leader who perished during a NATO attack.

Several tanks tried to enter the city through the gate of Al Ghiran, a suburb close to the airport. The hostilities began at 6:00 am after many loud explosions. Last Friday the Libyan regime had offered amnesty to the rebels in Misurata if they surrendered their weapons. The amnesty was valid until Tuesday, however after today’s offensive the port suffered serious damages.

Several vessels from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) await orders from the NATO to attend those refugees that want to leave the city. Meanwhile the NATO is being accused of trying to assassinate Gaddafi with the Sunday bombings.

Seif al Arab Muammar Gaddafi, of 29 years; one of the six sons of the Libyan leader perished along with his three sons, Seif (2 years), Cartago (2 years), and Mastra of four months. The victims will be buried on Monday after the noon prayer at the Cemetery of Martyrs of Al Hani Tripoli. After the news was published, several demonstrators attacked the homes of the Italy Ambassadors and United Kingdom and burned their respective embassies. Recently the UN announced their retreat from Tripoli.
