Court Bill Punishes Undocumented Workers

The United States Supreme Court gave its support to a bill in Arizona that sanctions businesses that hire undocumented immigrants, despite the opposition expressed by the government of Barack Obama.  The judicial organism approved the immigration package of bills proposed by Arizona with 5 votes on favor against 3.

Judge John Roberts stated, “Arizona has taken a less troublesome course that will not cause tensions with the federal law.” This argument was supported by the judges Antonin Scalia, Anthony Kennedy, Samuel Alito, and Clarence Thomas.  Meanwhile the judges Sonia Sotomayor, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer opposed this decision.

The new measure demands that businesses in Arizona to communicate with the Federal Government in order to determine the legal status of the employees. The bill about Legal Workers in Arizona is known in the state as the “death penalty of businesses.” According to a study of the BBVA Bancomer foundation, 100,000 Hispanic residents left the Estate after the bill was accepted.
