Greeks Protest Against The Parliament to Reject Cuts
The anti-riot team has had to use tear gas because of clashes between police and demonstrators, about nine by standers had to be taken to hospitals for respiratory problems. In addition, about 30 people used ladders to reach the first floor, which is down a branch of Eurobank, the second lender in the country, in order to burn it but were stopped by riot police.
The second day of strike coincides with the decisive vote in Parliament, the approval and ratification by the Members of the adjustment plan 2012-2015. This was essential for unlocking the fifth installment of the bailout agreed by the EU and the IMF in May 2010, which will provide 12,000 million euros. Without those agreements, Greece would have to be declared insolvent the following month. (MS)
