Strauss-Kahn Faces a New Complaint for Attempted Rape

Posted On 04 Jul 2011

French writer and journalist Tristane Banon, announced through her lawyer, David Koubby, that tomorrow morning she will denounce the former director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Dominique Strauss-Kahn, for attempted rape.

According to Banon’s version in 2007 during the French TV program “93 Faubourg Saint Honoré”, in February 2003 she was writing the book “Mistakes Confess,” while she interview Strauss-Kahn. The politician met her in a Paris apartment where he attempted to rape her.

“I put the recorder up to start soon,” she recalls. “He asked me to take his hand because what he had to confess me was very intimate, so I agreed. After the hand came the arm, then something else, so I told him to stop … Everything ended very violent, because clearly I repeated no, no. We fought on the ground, I gave him a couple of slaps and kicks up, but he broke my bra and tried to get down my jeans.”

The journalist have said that she did not reported this incident to the police because her mother Anne Mansouret influenced her not to do so in order to avoid being stigmatized. Mansouret said she had made a mistake while giving that advice to her daughter. (BG)
