Posted On 01 Dec 2011
Thousands of New Yorkers and tourists flocked today to Rockefeller Center in Manhattan to see the Christmas tree that presides over the square. The 30,000 bulbs that decorate it were switch on this first day.
The traditional pine, over twenty feet high and topped by a star with Swarovski crystals, captured all the eyes of the visitors who took pictures and spread the Christmas spirit in the city of skyscrapers.
The thousands of bulbs, in green, red or yellow bright colors operate through more than eight miles of electric cable and will be on day and night until early January. (LO)
