Former FARC Hostages Told their Story
The Colombian police officer, Jose Libardo Forero, 43, told that when they were captured they had their cloths removed and suffered a beating. Forero also told that on one occasion he and Jorge Trujillo Solarte escaped one of the camps, but after a month of wandering in the jungle the rebels found them and submitted them with abuses.
After their liberation, both, the policemen and the militaries were submitted to several medical scans. Afterwards the former hostages told about their lives as prisoners of FARC. Like the story of Forero, who has a country pig that he baptized as ‘Josefo Libertad’ which he received from the current governor of Meta, Alan Jara, who was also a hostage from July 15 of 2001 and February 3 of 2009, Forero said that the pig bit him on the forehead and the wound didn’t healed with anything.
The officers ended their speeches by saying that they do not know of any kidnapped civilians. They also informed that the guerrilla is more and more weakened and demoralized due to the strong attacks that the FARC has suffered recently. (AV)
