Tense moments in Morena Radio Station due to Possible Closure of the Frequency
Posted On 06 Jul 2012
“Morena FM never fell into arrears, it never fell into arrears”, said today Luis Almeida, one of the owners Ecuadorian radio station Morena. The National Council of Radio and Television (Conartel) has decided to withdraw the frequency 98.1FM in Guayaquil.
Almeida said that the radio frequency was 14, most of whom were lost along its lifetime. Currently there are only three frequencies operating: one in Guayaquil, Manabi and Santa Elena.
Almeida said “no government has ever closed or confiscated radios. Democrat Rafael Correa says he has never closed a radio … we live in a dictatorship in Ecuador. “Almeida said they have a court order to prevent the closure.
