Chile helps Ecuador to fight forest fires

Thirteen Chilean specialists from the CONAF.

Today a team of thirteen Chilean specialists from the National Forestry Corporation (CONAF for its Spanish acronym) arrived to Ecuador, to help fighting the wildfires currently affecting the country.

Foreign Minister in office, Fernando Schmidt, said that there are at least 17 conflicting forest fires in different areas of Ecuador and at least five people have died.

Schmidt emphasized Chile‘s quick response to the call made by Ecuador.(MZ)
