This Thursday, March 28th, at 09h30, a hearing was scheduled against Pedro Delgado Campana, cousin of the Ecuadorian president, Rafael Correa, former president of the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE) and former speaker of the Management Unit Public Law (Ugedep). Who after announcing that he had forged his economist title left the country for a self imposed exile in Miami (United States) and remains there since December 20.

The hearing set by Judge Vicente Robalino, by an order of the Attorney General, will be held on the eighth floor of the National Court of Justice (CNJ).

The prosecution seeks to deliver the judges all the items of evidence found during its investigation for the alleged crime of falsification, of the lawsuit filed by independent Assemblyman Enrique Herreria, who denounced Delgado a month before he left the country.

Regarding this matter, the attorney general, Galo Chiriboga said yesterday that the National Court of Justice “finally set a date and time for the hearing of Mr. Pedro Delgado.” The prosecution formally requested the hearing on February 21, which was more than a month ago.

Chiriboga said that at current moment there is no need for the presence of Delgado, but for now, “I wish he was present, however, if he is not in the hearing his attorneys will represent him.”
