Argentine businessman, Gaston Duzac, who obtained a loan of $ 800,000 from the Bank Cofiec (owned by Ugedep), said he did not received the money of the loan and that these funds would be in the hands of Juan Hussey and Cristian Galan, Scanbuy venture partners. Such funds were intended to win a contest of a software provision in the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE).

Thus Duzac reported himself, in an interview with Vanguardia magazine, which was published on Monday: “I never touched the money, I feel like I was used to get the credit.” He also said it would seek the one responsible to pay that money.

When the loan was approved, Duzac would have, since December 16, 2011, made the requirement to the then president of Cofiec, Antonio Buñay, to transfer the money into three segments. At that time the credit only had the approval of the Credit Committee, but not with the Board. Given the delay Duzac believed there was a delay in the transfers to Switzerland and the United States.

According to the explanations, what happened on December 23 was that the swift (Bank Identification Code) for the transfer to Switzerland was wrong. While the one from the United States, was fine, but the money never arrived. That is why, on December 27, new transfers were carried out again using a bank as intermediary, the Austrobank Panama, so that the money reaches Switzerland and the United States, by the same route plan.
