Inflation went backwards in June
According to the National Institute of Statistics and Census (INEC), last month inflation stood at -0.14% compared to the 0.18% of the same month in the previous year. According to the figures, the prices fell.
The statistics also reveal that the group of food and non-alcoholic beverages contributed to the negative change in prices with 71.24%, recreation and culture, 17.11%, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics 5.59%; miscellaneous goods and services with 4.68% and education with 1.38%.
The cost of the basic basket in June stood at $ 606.3, and the monthly household income was $ 593.6, while in the same period in 2012, the basket stood at $ 586.18 with a family income of $ 545.07.

Annual inflation (since last June) stands at 2.68%, while the cumulative (January 2013 to June) was 0.94%.
