Nicolas Maduro gives asylum to Edward Snowden
Venezuela said yesterday it decided to give humanitarian asylum to the former CIA analyst, Edward Snowden, accused in his country of cyber espionage and who has been for several days in the transit area of an airport in Russia, where he applied for asylum in several countries, including Ecuador.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that “as head of state and government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela he has decided to offer humanitarian asylum to the young American Edward Snowden so he can come to the homeland of Bolivar and (Hugo) Chavez and live…”
At the moment the White House has not made any statements about it.
