H1N1 Flu claims another victim

Ambato has the deadly flu AH1N1
During the afternoon of Saturday, July 13, another person died because of H1N1 flu in Ambato, Highlands of Ecuador. Lorena Velasco, the provincial health director Tungurahua, made the confirmation of the death.
The new victim was isolated in the IESS hospital in Ambato. In this case, health authorities indicated that both Patata and Ambato are on surveillance.
The first victim was reported back on July 9, when it was transferred from IESS hospital of Latacunga, capital of Cotopaxi.
Velasco in Ambato also added that there are 23 patients suspected of being infected with the dangerous flu. 14 of them have severe pneumonia and 9 have a flu-like condition.
The results of the examinations of the National Institute of Public Research will be announced next week.
