Gloria Gallardo is back running Guayaquil’s civic promotion
After served as civic promoter from 1992 to 2000, during the two municipalities of Leon Febres-Cordero, Gloria Gallardo returns to her position in the City Hall of Guayaquil, this time as Director of Tourism and Civic Promotion.

Over the past nine years, Gloria Gallardo served as Media and Communications adviser in the Noboa Group, becoming one of the closest people to the international businessman Alvaro Noboa.
Completely convinced of the civic commitment of the people of Guayaquil, Gloria seeks to turn the city into a global destination metropolis thanks to the merge of the two positions that she currently leads.
“The only thing we have to do is keep encouraging and promoting the love for Guayaquil; the pride in our country and to know the history of the city,” she told to a local media.
She maintains a close friendship with mayor Jaime Nebot, and her unexpected return to the City Hall was a proposal made by him a year ago.
In charge of Tourism and Civic Promotion, Gloria Gallardo seeks to implement a strategic plan; an institutional policy of the Municipality to make tourism a fundamental activity in the city. That is, a destination city that moves and is promoted. And for that, this department has to implement the policies of the Municipality.
Gloria ruled out that her return responds to political interests, ass the sectional elections are close and Nebot will probably run for reelection as mayor of the city.
“The mayor was a witness, as citizens, of the work I did regarding the rescue of civic values of Guayaquil, at a time when the city was in a very bad shape,” she said.
