Esteban Paz could run for mayor of Quito

President of the Executive Committee of Liga Deportiva Universitaria, Esteban Paz, showed interest in being the mayor of Quito, after Mauricio Rodas (SUMA) presented him the option months ago. “Since then we have spoken with much more detail on the subject.”

“… Like any citizen, I am aware of the need to contribute to Quito. This is a city where there is much to give it, because for me it also gave me the chance to live the fullness of it’s conditions.”

In the last two weeks Rodas proposals have intensified, however Paz has not yet made a decision, considering that is a big step and he needs to think carefully.

According to Paz his decision is detained because “I have some personal matters that do not allow me to take that big step.”

Among these drawbacks he mentioned that the league is going through a rough time. “I would leave satisfied feeling that the League is in the best possible conditions.” He added his need to consolidate the business the restaurant chain that he directs, Sports Planet. “… There’s much to be done before leaving a company that is my livelihood. Then there is the family.”

Esteban is the son of the banker Rodrigo Paz, who was Mayor of Quito between 1988 and 1992.
