Exploitation in the Yasuní will not reach intangible area

This document recommends declaring the national exploitation of the blocks 31 and 43, in an area of no more than one thousandth of the current area of the Park. However, this excludes from its declaration of national interest to the Intangible Zone Tagaeri – Taromenane where there is evidence of un-contacted people.
Therefore, the Commission suggested to the President to establish a comprehensive monitoring system in relation to the impact of mining activities that generate oil on people and the towns in voluntary isolation and the environment in the area.
