Literature Nobel Prize was given to Canadian writer

This morning, Canadian author Alice Munro received the Nobel Prize in Literature for her stories about the problems, loves and tragedies of women in small towns that turned her into “master of the contemporary short stories.”

The writer, 82, who began writing in her teens, became famous for her short stories. Among her works, it is included “The View from Castle Rock” (2006) and “Too Much Happiness” (2009).

“While working on my first five books, I kept wishing I was writing a novel,” said, Munro, rejecting the label of “miniature stories,” to her work.
