CNE denied Francisco Leon candidature for re-election in Salitre

Francisco Leon Flores from the movement Alianza PAIS (AP) was a candidate for re-election as mayor of Canton Salitre (Guayas). Flores candidacy was denied by the National Electoral Council (CNE), after accepting the challenge posed.

Ivan Martinez Reyes, of the Alianza Revolucionaria Salitreña movement, was the one who filed the objection was against Leon, under the argument that the candidate is registered with other political organization.

Now if the candidate or AP does not appeal to the Electoral Tribunal Court (TCE), the political movement will have a new contender within two days after the notification of the decision of the CNE, which was ordered yesterday.
