The Falkland Islands are a NATO military base according to Argentine President

Argentina’s President, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, reported yesterday that the Falkland Islands “are the nuclear NATO military base in the South Atlantic,” at the claim of renewing Argentine’s sovereignty over the southern island, administered by the United Kingdom.

“The truth about the Falklands is that they constitute the nuclear NATO military base in the South Atlantic, this is truth that they can not keep hiding”.

The archipelago “today constitutes the largest south military base of the 50 degrees in the south latitude, from the Falklands all British military deployment in the South Atlantic is managed,” she said.

“Therefore our message is related to sovereignty, it has to do with a message of peace”, said Kirchner when speaking on a national address to the whole country in the commemorative ceremony the 32th anniversary of the Falklands War.
