Mery Zamora case will be received by the IACHR
Mery Zamora’s defense is working to prevent the failure´s revocation that acquitted her to provide documentation on this process to human rights organizations such as the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR).
This, in relation to the appeal presented yesterday by Attorney General Galo Chiriboga, before the Constitutional Court (CC) by the cassation judgment which acquitted Zamora of the crime of sabotage and terrorism.
Juan Vizueta and Pedro Granja, Zamora´s lawyers, traveled last week to the U.S., where they were received by delegates of the High Commissioner for DD.HH of the UN, the Freedom House, the National Endowment for Democracy and the Human Rights Foundation.
In addition, Granja indicated they intend to return to the U.S. in ten days to raise the lawsuit against the Ecuadorian State before the IACHR by the Zamora case.
