Correa meets with representatives of university federations
President Rafael Correa met yesterday at a lunch with 125 representatives from 12 university federations and 19 state authorities.
The objectives of the encounter were: First, to evaluate the public policies of higher education during these years of government. At the meeting they talked about scholarships, student loans and entrance exams to universities.
The second objective was to integrate students to the government project. “We are not only inviting you to this lunch, we are inviting you to something much more important: to build together a more supportive Ecuador. Led by university students we will get there”, said Viviana Bonilla, Secretary of Political Management.
The young people expressed their rejection to the violence in the recent student marches. “It’s a time to talk and we do not agree with these methods,” said Carlos Muñoz, President of the FEUE in Quito.
