Protests and clashes between supporters and opponents of the pro-democracy movement resumed yesterday in Hong Kong.

The incident came a day after the first meeting between students and the government, which did not manage to bring positions to end a 25-day conflict.

The incidents began in the district of Mong Kok, early in the afternoon, when a group of opponents to the protests tried to break some of the barricades that block the traffic.

The clashes, in which hundreds of people participated and were repeated throughout the afternoon, were instigated by a group of taxi drivers at the scene with a copy of the injunction issued by the Supreme Court of Hong Kong on Monday.

The court decision prohibited the occupation of roads in the district of Mong Kok, and obeyed to the lawsuit filed by several public transport operators of Hong Kong, which includes taxi drivers, to restore normality in the streets taken by barricades of the Occupy movement.
