Secom belies Teleamazonas on changes of IESS board

The National Communications Secretariat (Secom) said in a official statement there will not changes in the Board of the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security (IESS), denying the news broadcast by the television media Teleamazonas, which ensured that Victor Hugo Villacrés will be removed from the IESS board andRichard Espinosa, current Minister Coordinator of Production, would replace him.

The Secom called this February 20 to a press statement to the media, where the official spokesperson of the institution announced the changes in the Cabinet of the President and in which any removal in the Ecuadorian Institute of Social Security was never mentioned.

The statement says that the note of Teleamazonas “included only part of the official announcement and presented unconfirmed information about the alleged change in the Board of IESS, an attitude that does not conform to reality and contributes to citizen disinformation.”

Teleamazonas, for its part, has not pronounced yet on this statement.
