Two minutes and 30 seconds lasted the escape of Andrea Barcia Rodríguez from the third floor of her home in Portoviejo after the earthquake. She led her family with the light of her cell phone, while recording the scene. This recording became a testimony of confusing images of the shattered house and cries of desperation. The news was published by The Journal of Manabi, with images of the Manavision media.
Andrea Barcia, a twenty-six year old lawyer who works in the Magap, was in her apartment on the Alajuela Street, between the Chile and Ricaurte streets, with her husband Nilo Montesdeoca, her three year old daughter and her 11 month-old baby.
“I do not have a flashlight app, every time I have to light up something I have to use the video recording option. Only three days after I realized I had recorded everything we lived,” she said.
