Russia delivers 30 tons of humanitarian aid to Ecuador

Russia today delivered 30 tons of humanitarian aid to the authorities of Ecuador, including food, tents, electric generators and hygiene products and basic necessities.
According to the Ministry for Emergency Situations of Russia, a transport aircraft Il-76 traveled 15,000 kilometers from Moscow to Quito with a stopover in Brazil.
“Humanitarian aid is aimed at the population of the country and will alleviate the effects of the disaster caused by the major earthquake,” said a ministry spokesman.
Russia responded thus to the assistance request submitted by the Ecuadorian authorities, this will allow to set up a camp to attend, clean and feed people who are homeless.
Shortly after the earthquake struck the Andean country on April 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his condolences to his Ecuadorian counterpart, Rafael Correa.
According to the latest official data, the death amounts to 602 and the injured above 8,000, while 153 people are still missing (I).
