Pareja: ‘I do not have signatures in Panama’

The Justice Committee will meet this week to continue the investigation of the ‘Panama Papers.’ Opposition legislator Luis Fernando Torres (PSC-Change) will request during the first meeting, scheduled to be installed on Wednesday, the appearance of former Minister of Hydrocarbons, Carlos Pareja Yannuzzelli, and former manager of Petroecuador, Alex Bravo, who were involved with offshore companies in Panama.

The names of the two former officials of the regime are part of an investigation that was published last Friday, by Assemblyman of Alianza Pais, Fausto Cayambe, about people who have links with offshore companies in the Central American country.

In order to advance in the investigation of Pareja and Bravo, the Justice Commission must request full details of the foreign currency transactions whose recipient is the Icaza & Jurado Law Firm or the similar firms. In addition, the tax on income and transactions of the past five years, said the legislator.
