In 2016 Ecuador exported notebooks to Bolivia, passion fruit purée to London and chocolate to Japan. These are three of the 223 cases in which Ecuadorian exporters managed to do business abroad with the support of the Institute for Promotion of Exports and Investments (ProEcuador).
These figures were highlighted yesterday by the director of the agency Silvana Vallejo during the accountability of the negotiations made in 2016. She stressed that last year ProEcuador benefited 941 exporting companies, 81% of which are SMEs (micro, small and medium-sized).
One of the most representative figures was the sales expectations generated in the business meetings ProEcuador organized in 2016, which exceeded the $ 300 million (I).
