President Lenin Moreno referred to the fight against corruption during his weekly address and said that this “does not admit misunderstood loyalties. Loyalty is not to patronize! Loyalty is not submission to the capo, nor defense to the vivacious friend!”

Moreover, he confirmed that the call for a referendum for citizens to pronounce “on the changes that must be introduced to guarantee a full democracy, without autocracy and with transparency, that ensure the control of the state apparatus.”

The President assured that the implementation of this mechanism would respond to the government’s commitment to reaffirm citizens’ rights and democratic principles. (I)
