Coffee growers in Ecuador reached US $ 1.16 million in sales expectations

Eight Ecuadorian companies promoted their offer of exportable coffee at the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) in the city of Seattle, United States, the largest and most important coffee industry worldwide. The event counted with around 14 500 participants and managed that the Ecuadorian industries reach a potential of sales for around USD 1,16 million dollars.
Ecuadorian companies showed at the Speciality Coffee Association of America Fair, in which about 14,500 participants gathered, among retailers, roasters, tasters, importers, producers, distributors, foundations, associations and specialized public. During the event, Ecuadorian companies achieved a business closure potential of more than $ 1.16 million.
This commercial showcase that brings together more than 60 countries, allows to position special coffees in international markets and includes educational talks, tastings, championships and other activities related to this sector.
Vinicio Martínez, of the Regional Federation of Associations of Small Ecological Coffee Growers of the South (FAPECAFÉS), aims to continue strengthening the market. He also confirmed that he was able to hold some meetings with new buyers and pointed out that for his company it will always be an opportunity to position Ecuadorian coffee and its coffee growing worldwide.
For his part, Jorge Gallardo, director of the commercial office of ProEcuador in Los Angeles, explained that Ecuador is achieving an outstanding participation and is positioning itself as an important coffee exporting country in the United States. (I)
