Minister Romo reacts after incident with presidential caravan in Cuenca
Ecuadortimes:

As the result of political manipulation, María Paula Romo, Minister of the Interior, described the incident suffered by President Lenin Moreno’s caravan in Cuenca.
Two youngsters and one adult were held up for throwing objects. “They threaten to paralyze the country and end up manipulating teenagers to throw eggs. They put on a show assuming that we are going to criminalize the boys, which obviously we do not do. They end up making a montage of their attempted aggression. Cynical, irresponsible, “the official wrote on her Twitter account (@mariapaularomo).

The tweet was accompanied by two screenshots. The first of a message published by Correista legislator Doris Soliz. She asked for “the immediate release of minors under arrest”.
And the second with a clarification from the National Police that the people were apprehended and, subsequently, released without charges against them. More than eight hours remained an adult and two minors accused of throwing eggs at President Lenin Moreno, when he entered the hall of the city of Cuenca to participate in the solemn session for 198 years of independence.
This happened at 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018 in the capital of Azuay. The detainees were identified as César F., 27, Maria T., 17, and Bryan S., 13. According to the police, Maria T. was the one who threw the two eggs that broke, one on the red carpet that was placed for the access of the assistants, and the other on the road. (I)
