On the afternoon of Monday, October 29, 2018, the 10 young women who aspire to become the Queen of Quito 2018-2019 were presented in the Guápulo room of the Hotel Quito. The candidates were selected from a total of 341 registered and one of them will be crowned as sovereign of the capital on November 22, 2018.
Each year, the election of the Queen of Quito begins the festivities of the capital. The winner will work in social inclusion programs and other programs that take place in the capital and are focused on “improving the situation of women, eradicating child labor, giving support to older adults”, among others, according to the website Quito Inform.
The winner of this year will be the successor of Ana Carolina Carvajal, Queen of Quito 2017-2018. During the presentation of the new candidates, the outgoing queen thanked the support and added that she hopes to have “played in the best possible way.”
“I have a huge respect for the platform that was granted to me and I think as Queen of Quito, beyond having a crown, it has a responsibility so I hope I have covered all the needs that were presented to me with the people I supported during the year. “
The next Queen of Quito will be elected on November 22, 2018 at the Metropolitan Convention Center of Quito Prior to the ceremony, the young women will participate in work days in which they will announce the projects that the San José Municipal Patronato Unit executes in the city. (I)
