Free health day attended more than 200 Venezuelans and Ecuadorians in the north of Guayaquil

Posted On 24 Mar 2021

The activity was organized by the Fundación Manos Venezolanas and the support of the Fundación Social Ecuatoriana (Fusoe).

Free health day attended more than 200 Venezuelans and Ecuadorians in the north of Guayaquil

The health brigade not only attended foreigners, but also Ecuadorians who had general medicine, pediatrics and physiatry consultations; In addition, it delivered medications for the different diagnoses given by specialized personnel and administered vitamin C and B complex vaccines, according to Luis Giménez Atay, a member of the Fundación Manos Venezolanas.

The representative of the organization thanked the contribution of Fusoe and the constant support of the Ecuadorian Red Cross, the Permanent Committee for the Defense of Human Rights (CDH) in Guayaquil and the Fundación Paz y Esperanza, with which it is possible to carry out these days.

“We are showing that this type of pandemic activities can be carried out in an organized manner, while maintaining social distancing. It is a way of doing things right. In times of pandemic, people also need medical attention ”, he remarked.

Eugenio Yulee, president of Fusoe, stressed that he will maintain support for these social aid efforts, and said that health is one of the greatest needs that foreigners have in the country, especially Venezuelans, due to the economic and political crisis that lives that nation.

He also highlighted that this organization maintains a permanent training program as a nursing assistant or surgical instrumentation and other areas, with a partial scholarship to which both Venezuelans and Ecuadorians can apply, with the opportunity to join the labor market.

“As we have always done, we always attend to these issues of social assistance (…). It is certain that soon they will be seeing other medical brigades in other sectors that have Venezuelans and I am willing to attend ”.

Iliana Atencio, one of the patients, thanked for the care received, including that of her son with visual impairment, who in the next few days will receive his corrective lenses.

“May they continue to have blessings so that all this continues for the well-being of others, both Venezuelans and Ecuadorians.”

José Augín, resident of Sauces VI, also highlighted the importance of the day and thanked them for having received medicines to strengthen their immune system in the midst of the pandemic.

“I am in treatment right now and, thank God, I was very well cared for here.”
