For the first time, an Ecuadorian architecture project wins first prize in the Architecture MasterPrize (AMP) competition.
In July 2022, José Daniel Terán , founder of A1 Arquitectura Avanzada , was invited by the AMP organizers to participate in the world event , in Los Angeles, United States.
The call was for the Hidden Stone House project , a construction located in the Puembo parish , in Quito.
Terán intervened in the Green architecture category and won the 2022 Architectural Design Award in front of thousands of proposals from the rest of the world.
His work was analyzed by the international gaze in many aspects, including creativity . That ability to let go of the imagination to give way to forms, structures and spaces without altering the natural environment.
This shows that in Ecuador there is talent to create construction proposals of global relevance, reflects Terán, leader of the A1 study.
Passion for architecture
Having won the award reaffirms Terán’s passion for architecture , who recognizes the competitiveness of his collaborators in this process.
Finally, Terán hopes that more and more Ecuadorian projects appear, and more architects are interested in showing their designs and exporting to the world the ideas that are generated here.
The Ecuadorian representative will receive the trophy during the gala that will take place at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Spain, on November 24.
