A Meeting Would Define the Commercial Future Between Ecuador and the EU
Next week, Ecuador will send a technical team to Brussels to maintain several meetings with the purpose of resuming trade negotiations with the European Union (EU).
Mentor Villagomez will lead the delegation from May 2 to May 4, days in which they will try to clear any doubts that the EU has on government procurement, investments and strategic sectors.
The meeting came a month after Foreign Minister Ricardo Patiño along with Santiago Leon, Minister of Production, meet with senior representatives of the European Commission, which agreed to exchange information before deciding whether to retake the negotiations for an agreement.
If all goes well and resolve the concerns, the Government believes that negotiations can be resumed between May and June.
