The former president of the republic, Alberto Dahik, presented Wednesday preparatory measures for a possible economic recession in Ecuador.
Eliminating subsidies as those currently applied to gas, gasoline and diesel, and determining a compensation for urban transport to avoid affecting the poorest, were some of those mentioned.
Dahik, director of the newly created Center for Economic Studies and Social Development (CESDE) of the Espiritu Santo University (UEES) since this month, recommended as part of an economic program for the country, to also turn to the International Monetary Fund in search of liquidity and cut the public investment.
