Alleged perpetrators of the death of two Argentine tourists are detained
Interior Minister Jose Serrano reported that two people were arrested Sunday night on suspicion of the death of Marina Menegazzo and Maria Jose Coni, the two Argentine tourists missing since last February 22.
The minister said that during an operation of the UIAD and the Dinased they could obtain information for the raid on a house in Montañita, “where belongings of the girls and gloves with blood were found, whose owner confessed his involvement in the crime.”
Daily El Clarin of Argentina mentioned in its publication that the Federal Police of Argentina yesterday sent samples of the fingerprints of the young women so that Ecuador can confirm the identities.
The bodies of the two girls, aged 21 and 22 years old, native of Mendoza, were found in the mountains, about 200 meters away from the beach, between Montañita and Manglaralto, in Ruta del Spondylus. The first body was found on Thursday night and the second body was found Sunday, approximately 50 meters from the first finding.
